Welcome to Join Us

Join the Higher Education Union and work together for a better higher education environment! You can find out about recent issues and actions on the union's website and Facebook fan page. The union also offers a members-only legal advice service every Friday, which can be booked after 3 months of membership.

Membership will be granted upon completion of the membership application form and payment of the membership and recurring membership fees in accordance with the Association's constitution, and after approval by the Council. Please complete the payment within one week of completing the application form to facilitate the Council's assessment. If membership is not approved by the Council, the applicant will be refunded the full amount of the membership fee paid. The Secretariat will issue a separate letter to inform you of the outcome of the Council's review.

Please use an email address other than your school mailbox as far as possible to avoid being blocked by the University's Computing Centre when sending bulk mail.

※ At the inaugural meeting, a recurrent fee adjustment was approved, whereby full-time teachers and researchers who pay their recurrent dues for ten years at a time will receive a 10% discount on their dues for that period. A number of members have already responded to this initiative to support the financial pressure of the union in its early years.

Apply for membership

You can follow the instructions on this page to join and pay for your membership online by selecting 'Apply Online'. Alternatively, you can choose to download the Membership Application Form, which contains the Membership Application Form and the Credit Card/Financial Card Payment Authorisation Form. Simply fill in the form and return it to us by email([email protected]).

Your name, school/affiliation and email address will only be used for correspondence purposes.

In line with government's policy to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions, receipts for trade union fees are available for retention in the form of an electronic email. However, if you require a physical paper receipt, please feel free to contact us to send it to us.
